8-13-13 BOONDOCKS

 We spent the afternoon at Boondocks, racing go-karts, playing in the arcade and being hot :)  I think Thomas LOVED this day!  He LOVES anything to do with cars. 

We also LOVED The Sweet Tooth Fairy.  Their cupcakes are DIVINE!!!

After Boondocks, we went to In-N-Out Burger one last time and slipped over to get a cupcake at The Sweet Tooth Fairy then went to the movies to see Dispicable Me 2.  We met up with John & Kate to get milkshakes (pictured above) at their favorite place…those shakes were HUGE!

8-11-13 THE MOST AMAZING SUNDAY EVER…

While we were in Utah, Jake was ordained an Elder.  We felt blessed to have been a part of his ordination.  Afterwards, Kate’s brother, Steve asked if we would be interested in making peanut butter and jelly sandwiches for the homeless to hand out at the shelter downtown Salt Lake.  We said yes and were absolutely amazed at what happens when a few people join together for a good cause.  We made over 800 sandwiches & baggies of fruit loops.  I think my kids enjoyed that more than anything.  To see the look on children’s faces when they receive something from a stranger in their time of need was priceless.

The moon was red and really cool looking so we tried to capture a picture with my iPhone.  It was beautiful!

8-10-13 HIKING THE “Y”

 We did it!  We hiked the “Y” in Provo!!!  I was SOOOO happy!  The change in elevation is pretty difficult, but we went early, so we didn’t have to deal with the heat and it couldn’t have been better!  Did I tell you how happy I was to be able to cross this off my bucket list?!

 

AHHHH…such a great way to start off the morning!!!

8-9-13 BOISE, ID

 We went to pick up the girls at EFT in Provo and decided to split the road trip into two days.  We stopped in Boise and went to one of our favorite breakfast spots in town…Cracker Barrel.  Their waffles were delicious, and can I just tell you that I LOVE their fresh squeezed orange juice?!

The Golf Tee Game…it’s really hard!!!

8-7-13 CUB SCOUT DAY CAMP

 I was asked to help out at Cub Scout Day Camp this year.  I warned the leaders that I had NO idea what to do at cub camp, having grown up with girls…but they put me in charge of the skits.  The boys were a lot of fun!  Stephanie Bundrock and I helped them prepare their skits and also helped them pass of their Articles of Faith.  They performed their skits at the end of the day in front of their parents.  What a fun time!

8-5-13 S’MORES IN THE SMOKER

 Ashley & Aylexie were off to EFY and Thomas said he wanted s’mores after dinner.  We grabbed the ingredients and made them in the smoker!  They were delicious and Thomas that it was pretty cool to cook them in Jeff’s smoker!  Who knew???

8-2—3-13 JEFF’S ANNUAL BEND TRIP

 Jeff, Wil, Trevor & Phil took their annual trip to Bend, OR to golf.  This is Jeff’s Father’s Day gift each year.  He really enjoys this trip.  He always has a good time because he does is favorite thing…play 36 holes of golf each day!

While they were gone, Holly, Emy & I decided to go to Mother’s for dinner & dessert.  What a fun night…except for the scary experience of walking down a very scary street trying to get Voodoo donuts-which we ended up deciding NOT to get and crossing the street to walk back to our car where it was MUCH safer!  We ended up getting lost trying to find our way back home.  It was definitely a night to remember!
