BASKETBALL AT HOME

It is raining a little and a bit muggy, so Jeff & the kids decided to head outside and shoot some hoops. They had a lot of fun! Thomas was even in there trying to make it in. Ashley wants to play basketball this year in school and is practicing to get better. It's nice having a court in our backyard. Anyone need zucchini?! Ours is growing out of control!

PIANO RECITAL

Ashley & Aylexie did an excellent job on their pieces this year! As their teacher, I was so happy and as their mother, I was beaming and proud! If I can figure out how to put on a video clip, I'll be sure to post it! I decided to redecorate my living/dining room 2 weeks before this event. I bought new curtains and of course, had to paint...Jeff wasn't pleased because not only did we have to paint the dining/living room, we had to paint our hallway (which included vaulted ceilings to the 2nd floor) up the stairs, and the hallway of the second story! I was cutting it very close! Mom & Dad came down to hear the girls play and were a tremendous amount of help! It all turned out just in time!

Is Our Tent Big Enough???

I don't know about you, but I'm not a huge fan of camping...But, I do want to have fun with my kids and hopefully make some positive memories! Jeff & I haven't camped in a tent for a very long time (about 7 years) and decided to plan a camping trip in August. We also decided that we'd better see if we all fit in our tent! I think it's going to be tight, but manageable. We're going to Beacon Rock here in Vancouver...I'll take lots of pictures to keep you posted!

15 Years & Still In Love!!!

Kauai was absolutely beautiful! Jeff & I hated to leave the oasis, but we had to get back to our kids! After almost 5 years of saving airline miles, we flew first class and were off to have FUN! We played 18 holes of golf 3 mornings, snorkeled along PoiPu Beach and Tunnels Beach on the north side of the Island. We stopped and bought fresh mango's and corn on the side of the road and enjoyed relaxing by the ocean and watching the waves come in. It was absolutely wonderful spending some much needed time together! It's amazing how fast 15 years have gone by!

SUMMER IS COMING!!!

UGH! I'm terrible at this, but have a goal to become better...These past 6 months have been CRAZY! Jeff's got 3 classes under his belt for his MBA (9 more to go!!!) and can't wait until Spring 2010 to graduate! Ashley's turning 12 this next week and I can't believe how fast time flies and also how beautiful she is! She's excited to to into YW and looking forward to girls camp.

Aylexie is just as cute as ever! She's excited for golf camp this summer and can't wait until school gets out on Wednesday. Thomas finished up preschool this past week and keeps asking me when Kindergarten starts...I guess needed to explain the whole summer thing to him a bit better! He can't wait to ride the bus!

Jeff and I are headed off to Kauai on the 26th! We can't believe we've been married for almost 15 years! We are SO looking forward to this trip!

I PROMISE to be better at updating this thing and will keep you updated!

The kids were so excited for Christmas this year...especially Thomas! I think they really start getting excited when they're about his age. Jeff & Thomas headed up to Everett on the train on the 18th. Thomas was so excited to go! He asked each hour if it was time to go. The girls had a few more days of school, so they stayed with me. I surprised them with tickets to the Nutcracker on Friday. I figured since they danced in it with their company, it would be exciting to see it on a professional level. After seeing the Nutcracker, we quickly came home and left for Everett. We had 2 family parties to attend and were excited! Saturday night, we went to Mom & Dad's for our Christmas party. The kids had went to the the Dollar Store to purchase gifts to exchange. They played the game where someone could take it from you...Thomas was NOT going to give up his hummer truck! It was a lot of fun! Sunday, we went to Jeff''s sisters house to celebrate Christmas. We had a TON of excellent food, as usual. :) The kids played a fun game...making a Santa beard by smearing vaseline all over their faces and putting their faces in a bowl full of cotton balls! It was hilarious!

Jeff & I headed home at 9:00 pm and got home by 1:00 am. We had decided that we should get a Wii-(a hard thing to find the week before Christmas). Jeff had tried a couple of times with no luck. I woke up at 6:10 am and decided to check good old Fred Meyer. Jeff had warned me not to get my hopes up. I walked into the electronics department and asked. They said they got 4 in that morning! We were so excited! We hid the boxes behind the couch and decided to give it to them later on Christmas Night. Obviously we didn't hide it good enough! About 2:30 pm, Ashley announced that there were 2 more presents that had needed to be opened. Being the mean parents' that we are, we told them they couldn't open the gifts until everything was cleaned up! The gifts were opened later that day with screams of delight! We have all had a lot of fun playing!
